Established in 1987, RedRover is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sacramento, California, that serves the United States and Canada. The mission of RedRover is to bring animals out of crisis and strengthen the bond between people and animals through three programs which provide emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance and education. RedRover Responders is similar to the Red Cross for animals, and helps animals in natural disasters and mass cruelty and neglect cases. We have over 4,500 RedRover Responders across the U.S. and Canada ready for deployments. RedRover Relief provides grants to for animals that need life-saving veterinary care. Grants are also available to help victims of domestic violence escape abusive environments with their pets. RedRover Readers helps children understand the emotional states of others, develop the skills needed for empathy and explore the bond between people and animals through select stories and discussion. RedRover Readers has reached more than 100,000 children nationwide and trained more than 2,000 teachers, humane educators and volunteers to implement the program. Kind News Magazine helps kids understand and respect animal and provides opportunities to practice skills necessary for empathy, which will impact how they treat both animals and people now and in the future.
